Accessibility Statement

Therapy that works
for more people.

Accessibility isn't a nice-to-have. It's the baseline for a therapy practice that takes its clients seriously. Here's what Pilgrim Therapy is committed to, and how to let us know when we fall short.

Our Commitment

What we aim for.

This website is designed and maintained to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. That means the site is built to be usable by people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice control, high-contrast modes, reduced motion settings, and a wide range of assistive technologies.

What's already in place

  • Colour contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA across all body text and interactive elements.
  • Semantic HTML with properly nested headings, landmarks, and ARIA labels.
  • Keyboard navigation throughout the site, with visible focus states on every interactive element.
  • Alt text on all meaningful images; decorative imagery is correctly marked so screen readers skip it.
  • Respect for prefers-reduced-motion. Animations pause when your system requests reduced motion.
  • A skip-to-main-content link as the first focusable element.
  • Text that scales cleanly to 200% without loss of content or functionality.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is a moving target. New content is reviewed against the same standards before it ships, and periodic audits using tools like WAVE and axe are part of the normal maintenance of the site.

Physical Access

The Beaches office.

The in-person office is located near Queen Street East and Victoria Park Avenue in Toronto. For current information about step-free entry, washroom accessibility, and transit access, please reach out before your first in-person appointment so we can confirm the specifics for your needs.

If the physical office isn't a fit, the same clinical work is available through virtual sessions anywhere in Ontario, and through walking therapy along the accessible, paved Woodbine Boardwalk or the downtown Philosopher's Walk route.

Feedback

When something isn't working.

If any part of this site, or the experience of working together, isn't accessible for you, please reach out. Accessibility feedback is taken seriously and addressed as quickly as possible. Email info@pilgrimtherapy.ca or call (647) 394-0773.

We'll acknowledge your message within two business days and let you know what's being done.
